About Hale

We Built This Because We Need It

Jason

I'm Jason. In my 30s, I had a heart attack.

Since then, I've had two open heart surgeries. I have an artificial heart valve and an ICD implanted in my chest. I'm on 21 medications. I live with congestive heart failure and coronary artery disease.

My wife has multiple sclerosis. My son is autistic.

Between the three of us, we see a dozen doctors across multiple hospital systems. We take over 30 medications. We have constant health questions.

"Can I take Advil with my blood thinners?"
"What do my echocardiogram results mean?"
"Is this symptom normal or should I call my doctor?"
"How do we manage my son's medications?"

We couldn't get quick, reliable answers. Our doctors are busy—they don't have time for every question. Google gives generic advice that doesn't account for our specific medical situations. We were on our own.

So I built Hale.

The Problem We're Solving

133 million Americans live with chronic health conditions. Many of them are managing:

  • Multiple medications with potential interactions
  • Complex medical histories across different specialists
  • Medical test results they don't understand
  • Urgent health questions with no one to ask
  • Family members with their own health challenges

The healthcare system isn't designed for quick answers. Doctors are overworked. Appointments are weeks away. Phone calls mean long hold times and callbacks that never come.

People with chronic conditions deserve better.

What Hale Does

Hale is your personal health AI assistant. You store your complete medical history—medications, conditions, doctors, allergies, implants, and medical reports—and Hale provides personalized health guidance whenever you have questions.

It's like having a doctor on call who knows everything about you.

When you ask, "Can I take Advil?" Hale doesn't give you a generic answer from Google. It knows you're on Warfarin, references your cardiologist by name, and explains why ibuprofen could be dangerous for you specifically.

When you upload your lab results, Hale doesn't just tell you what the numbers mean—it explains them in the context of your existing conditions and medications.

Personalized. Contextual. Available 24/7.

How We're Different

We're Not a Symptom Checker

We don't diagnose. We don't prescribe. We don't replace your doctors.

We help you understand your existing medical information and make informed decisions about your health.

We're Privacy-First

Your medical data is deeply personal. We encrypt everything at rest and in transit. We use medical-grade privacy practices. Your data is never used for training AI models or sold to third parties.

Your health information is yours. Period.

We're Built by Someone Who Gets It

I'm not a healthcare executive who saw a market opportunity. I'm a patient who needed a solution.

I know what it's like to:

  • Stare at a medication bottle at 2am, wondering if it's safe to take
  • Read medical reports filled with jargon you don't understand
  • Feel overwhelmed managing multiple conditions and medications
  • Worry about your family's health when you can't reach a doctor

I built Hale for me. For my family. And now for you.

Our Mission

We believe everyone managing chronic health conditions deserves:

  • Quick answers to urgent health questions
  • Personalized guidance based on their specific medical history
  • Clear explanations of medical information in plain English
  • Peace of mind knowing they have support 24/7

We're building Hale to be that support system.

Our Values

1. Privacy First

Your health data is sacred. We will never compromise on privacy and security.

2. Honesty Always

We're transparent about what Hale can and can't do. We're not a replacement for professional medical care, and we'll never pretend to be.

3. User-Centered Design

Every feature we build starts with a real user need. If it doesn't help people manage their health better, we don't build it.

4. Continuous Improvement

Healthcare is complex. We're constantly learning, improving, and listening to feedback to make Hale better.

Where We're Going

Right now, Hale helps individuals and families manage their health information and get personalized guidance.

In the future, we want to:

  • Partner with healthcare providers to improve patient care
  • Help caregivers manage health for elderly parents and family members
  • Integrate with electronic health records for seamless data access
  • Expand to support more languages and communities
  • Build tools that help people advocate for themselves in the healthcare system

But first, we're focused on getting this right for people like me—people managing chronic conditions who need better access to personalized health information.
